Drain camera inspection in Lausanne and Montreux
A drain that runs slowly, backs up or gives off a smell: the camera shows what is happening inside the pipe, without opening up the floor or the wall. You know what is there, where it is, and what needs to happen next.

When an inspection is worthwhile
- The water has been draining slowly for weeks, and chemical drain cleaner no longer makes any difference.
- A drain backs up, always in the same place.
- A smell keeps coming back with no visible cause.
- You are buying a property and want to know the condition of the drains.
- A blockage has already formed twice in the same place: there is a reason, and it can be seen.
What is included
- Travel within 40 km there and back, and setting up the equipment.
- Running the camera and a visual check of the accessible pipe.
- Identifying the problem area and what is in it.
- An explanation of the diagnosis on site, and what we recommend you do.
What is not included
- Unblocking: inspecting and unblocking are two different jobs.
- Cleaning or jetting the pipe.
- Any opening needed to reach an inaccessible pipe.
- Investigations beyond the standard inspection, which are priced before they go ahead.
Inspecting or unblocking: not the same thing
Unblocking gets the water flowing again. It does not tell you why the blockage formed. An inspection shows the cause: a root, a crack, a build-up of grease, a poor gradient, something stuck, a misaligned joint.
If your drain is blocked for the first time, unblocking is often enough. If it blocks for the third time in the same place, an inspection is what will spare you the fourth.
What the camera reveals
Roots that have come in through a joint, a cracked or crushed pipe, grease and limescale deposits, a backfall that holds water, an offset joint, an object dropped into the pipe, corrosion in old cast-iron pipework. Each finding is explained with what it means: something to keep an eye on, something to deal with now, or nothing to worry about.
Frequently asked questions
Can a camera inspection find a leak?
On an accessible drain, it can show a crack or a break. For a leak on a pressurised water supply, hidden and often built into the walls, leak detection is the right choice: it uses other methods.
Does anything need to be broken open?
No. The camera goes in through an existing access point: a manhole, a removed trap, a rodding eye. That is the whole point of the method. If there is no access point, we tell you before the visit.
Is unblocking included?
No. The inspection locates and records the problem. If unblocking turns out to be necessary, it is priced for you before it goes ahead.
